Habanero Red Savina has a degree of spiciness that is close to 600,000 SHU. It has Caribbean origins and is grown in South America (Mexico) and in the Southern USA (California and Texas). It belongs to the Capsicum chinense species and is also known by the names of "Dominican Devil’sTongue" and "Ball of Fire".
The Habanero family has many variations, in addition to Red Savina, Peperita has also chosen to produce Fatali (N.8) and Chocolate (N.9) because they are among the most fragrant, but there are also other varieties including White and the Orange. The fruit has the shape of a lantern with an elongated tip, when young it is green and as it ripens it takes on an intense orange color until it reaches the characteristic deep red.
During the production process, particular techniques of cold humidity extraction were adopted, allowing to keep the characteristic aromas of chilli pepper as unaltered as possible.
Habanero Red Savina, commonly called just Habanero, has a fruity scent reminiscent of ripe apricots. In the powder version it also acquires floral notes, black tea and spicy notes similar to coriander seeds.
It finds its ideal use in the preparation of stewed fish, in the marinating of meats and in sauces.
Thanks to its floral characteristics, it goes exceptionally well in confectionery especially with cocoa for all types of preparations : from dark chocolate to filled creams, up to hot chocolate with a pinch of cinnamon.
Among the various health microelements, Habanero Red Savina also contains Vitamin A which helps keep eyes, hair and skin in perfect health and above all contains Vitamin C, which not only stops the spread of free radicals, but is useful. and necessary to strengthen the barriers of the immune system, lowering the risk of cancer by inhibiting the synthesis of carcinogenic substances. Furthermore, recent studies scientifically confirm that using chili peppers in our diet at least 4 times a week halves the risk of heart attack.
