The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Yellow is a chili belonging to the Capsicum Chinense species and is the yellow variant of the classic red Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. As the name suggests, the Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Yellow chili is light yellow in color, round with a protrusion and indentation at the center of the apex, resembling the shape of a fleshy flower, and the skin is similar to that of a lemon. Usually, a Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Yellow chili measures 4-5 cm and is 5 cm long.

Origin The Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Yellow originates from the Moruga district of the island of Trinidad and Tobago. It has an intense yellow color, a round shape with a small tail at the base, reminiscent of a scorpion's tail. It is considered one of the 5 hottest chilies in the world. In fact, it reaches a significant degree of spiciness that true enthusiasts cannot resist: 2,000,000 SHU.

Scoville Scale: 1,500,000 - 2,000,000 SHU

Interesting Facts Due to its extreme spiciness, this chili was declared by the Guinness World Records as the hottest chili in the world, along with its red counterpart Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, until it was surpassed in 2013 by the Carolina Reaper.

Sensory Characteristics: Intense scent of yellow fruit with strong pineapple notes, noticeable hint of yellow bell pepper, and white chocolate.

Uses: The extreme spiciness pairs perfectly with the fruity taste, ideal for dishes with white meat, either as a sauce or powder.
The aroma of Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Yellow chili powder recalls sweet notes of dried plum, cocoa, tobacco, and vanilla with vegetal reminiscences of pickled olives. It is well suited for making exotic sauces that accompany mixed salads with fruits, roasted fish, boiled chicken, cold pasta, and couscous.
A single chili can be used to season many servings, and in general, it pairs well with all types of food, often being described as the most suitable chili for cooking.

Benefits: Among the various health-promoting micronutrients, Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Yellow contains Vitamin A, which helps maintain healthy eyes, hair, and skin, and above all, it contains Vitamin C, which not only stops the spread of free radicals but also helps strengthen the immune system barrier, reducing the risk of tumor development by inhibiting the synthesis of carcinogenic substances. Moreover, recent studies scientifically confirm that using chili in our diet at least 4 times a week halves the risk of a heart attack.

Plant: The plant is tall and robust, reaching heights of up to 150 centimeters. It lignifies in the first centimeters of the stem from the ground and is very lush with leaves sprouting along the length of the branches. The fruits ripen very late, but to grow the plant in the best and fastest way possible, it is advisable to expose it to the sun from the first warm days of March so that the chilies can be harvested in autumn. It prefers a well-drained and moist soil and does not tolerate waterlogging, as this could lead to the plant turning yellow. This plant is very prolific, and the chilies are very tasty: they are square-shaped, about 5 centimeters long and 3-4 centimeters wide, and can have a small tip resembling a scorpion's tail. The surface is uneven, and the interior is rich in seeds and placenta, indicative of high spiciness; during ripening, it changes from light green to bright yellow.
